Better Call Saul season 4 episode 7 video: Greetings, Saul Goodman?
First and foremost, it’s starting to feel increasingly clear that Kim Wexler is on the rise. She has figured out a new course for herself with a larger team around her, and all of this is good news for her. The hard work that she has put into her job is getting her somewhere! She deserves the opportunity to advance and push forward.
However, for Jimmy McGill it’s clear that he is still stuck in a very specific gear. He is currently struggling at the moment to just keep him head above water. He may be happy for Kim, but simultaneously distraught over the fact that he is seeing her move forward while he is standing still. This is why he may be more willing than ever to appreciate the darker corners of his personality, and when someone approaches him on this upcoming episode looking for Saul Goodman, he embraces it perhaps a little bit more than he really should. He’s got no problem putting on this particular mask at this point, which could offer him some success but also grave consequences.
The thing to remember is that at some point, there is going to be something that happens that causes Jimmy and Kim to separate from each other for good, and she’s already stood by him through a lot. With that in mind, you have to imagine that we’re going to arrive at something resembling a breaking point here sooner rather than later.
