The Sinner season 2 episode 8 (finale) preview: The truth about Marin
In some ways, the quality of an ending is an excellent litmus test to determining whether or not a season 3 will happen down the road. The ratings this season have been good enough to have it happen, but we really think that the longevity of this series is dependent mostly on whether or not the folks involved see a serious path for doing more — and also if there’s a demand for more. A bad ending will spread like wildfire through the TV community, and there’s nobody behind the show who wants that.

Below, The Sinner season 2 episode 8 synopsis offers up some more news when it comes to the what lies ahead … not that you should expect all that much:
Heather and Ambrose continue their search for Julian as Marin’s past is unraveled.
The fact that Julian is still missing tells you a lot about how difficult the search is in terms of finding him. What happened to Marin, meanwhile, is tying together a loose end that could, in turn, tie together almost every other loose end. It’s integral to understand that before we can really start to understand just about everything else. She died tonight, and with that, the plot thickens more.
