We really hope you’re ready for The Sinner season 2 episode 8, given that this is the episode that is going to be offering you many of the answers you’ve been seeking. This is the finale, a chance for closure, and also an opportunity to see if this series can stick the landing. The biggest problem with this sort of limited series is that the expectations are going to be through the roof for a satisfying resolution just because things have been built up for such a long time. If for whatever reason the ending isn’t perfect, then viewers get angry and that’s a whole storm that the producers will have to deal with.
In some ways, the quality of an ending is an excellent litmus test to determining whether or not a season 3 will happen down the road. The ratings this season have been good enough to have it happen, but we really think that the longevity of this series is dependent mostly on whether or not the folks involved see a serious path for doing more — and also if there’s a demand for more. A bad ending will spread like wildfire through the TV community, and there’s nobody behind the show who wants that.
Below, The Sinner season 2 episode 8 synopsis offers up some more news when it comes to the what lies ahead … not that you should expect all that much:
Heather and Ambrose continue their search for Julian as Marin’s past is unraveled.
The fact that Julian is still missing tells you a lot about how difficult the search is in terms of finding him. What happened to Marin, meanwhile, is tying together a loose end that could, in turn, tie together almost every other loose end. It’s integral to understand that before we can really start to understand just about everything else. She died tonight, and with that, the plot thickens more.
