Gotham season 5 episode 6: Ben McKenzie back as director
In a new post on Instagram, Sean Pertwee (who plays Alfred on the show) confirmed the news by sharing a photo of the table read (which you can check out below). McKenzie directing is a tradition that first began back in 2017, and he’s kept it going by doing an episode in season 4, as well. This gives him a chance to flex this particular muscle one more time before the series concludes on Fox. Maybe directing is something that he will want to do again in the future, depending on whatever his next gig is. We have a hard time thinking that McKenzie is going to be the sort of actor who is not in demand following the conclusion of Gotham. There are going to be some other people who want him and at that point, it’s mostly a question of whether or not he wants to dive back into another project right away.
Also, if you want to see a picture of McKenzie with a mustache, you can also see that below via series star Morena Baccarin on Twitter. We still wonder how much of mustache Gordon are we going to get on the show, largely because that is a signature hallmark of the character and one of his biggest calling cards. There are, of course, other things of importance beyond just a mustache, though — Gotham season 5 will feature a city in peril in the aftermath of Jeremiah’s stunts in the finale. He’s going to be one of the main lines of defense, alongside a pre-Batman version of Bruce Wayne.
There is no specific Gotham season 5 premiere date just yet, but you should be able to see the show back on the air at some point in early 2019. For some more significant season 5 casting news, be sure to visit the link here.
