Will Project Runway season 17 still happen? It certainly does feel like the show is going to be very different, but it will return.
Earlier this year, it was announced that the long-running series would be returning to Bravo after spending years over at Lifetime. The show’s been a bit nomadic that way, but it’s always been successful — but it’s also had both Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn. They’ve been staples of the show and reasons for its success, but both of them are now exiting and heading over to Amazon for a new project.
Meanwhile, today also featured the departure of longtime judge Zac Posen, who said the following about it in a statement via Deadline:
“Working alongside Heidi, Nina and Tim as a judge for six seasons of Project Runway was one of the greatest experiences of my career … I will cherish the opportunity the show gave me to learn from and grow with my co-judges, the producers, crew and designers. Runway has led to incredible opportunities and I am currently at work on some new projects that I am very excited to share with you soon. I wish the show and everyone much success always.”
Meanwhile, Bravo expressed its faith in the franchise in a statement of its own, noting that there are new people coming on board in the near future:
“Bravo is proud to bring Project Runway back where it all began, and Heidi and Tim will always be a huge part of the legacy. The series will continue its iconic impact with Bravo’s reboot for the next generation of designers and fans. We are excited to announce our new host and mentor very soon.”
Do you think that Project Runway season 17 will still be successful, even without so many familiar faces around? Be sure to share right now in the comments!
