The Bachelor 2019 star will be revealed on Good Morning America
ABC has announced that on Tuesday morning, the next star of the series is going to be revealed on Good Morning America. As per usual this time of year, there are many different names that are floating around out there, with one of the biggest ones being Colton Underwood. He has appeared on Bachelor in Paradise this season and the appeal of him seems to be that he will bring a little bit more drama and story to the table than some of the other top contenders, including Blake and Jason from this past season starring Becca Kufrin.
Yet, we’re getting a good sense that there is a divide between who producers want to be the next Bachelor and then also who most of America is rooting for. The thing that producers seem to be forgetting now is something that they specialized in before — remembering that at the end of the day, the women sell a particular season of The Bachelor. It’s not so much about who the leading man is, which is fine to cast someone who is not altogether exciting on paper. Think back to Ben Higgins — was he the most dynamic personality going into his season? Not exactly, but he came across as likable and genuine. His popularity helped to fuel his season and because of that, his season was immensely popular.
We know that there are a lot of people out there who feel like the show screwed up with Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Nick Viall as recent Bachelors. With that in mind, why not just go with someone considered to be more of the preseason pick? (For the record, we were fine with Nick, especially since one of the alternatives seemed to be Luke Pell. Arie? Not so much.)
One thing we are sure of is that the producers aren’t going to suddenly cast a completely fresh face — they have a pattern of casting these days and unless their newbie was a home run, we don’t think they would ever go there.
