Ray Donovan season 6 promo: Ray gets his next job
Unlike some of the other previews that are out there for the new season, this one is a little bit less about Ray’s recovery from his near-death experience or some of the friends that he makes along the way. Instead, this is more about Sam Winslow giving him a call and making it clear that she needs him — and, as a result of that, Ray getting ready to go back to work. This is what he does best, and in the video below you can see him trying to figure out his best move.
Of course, an intense show like Ray Donovan needs a cool tagline, and with that we bring you this: “If you see something, say nothing.” Effective, no? If nothing else, we do think that this does a pretty good job of echoing just what’s coming up. Ray is the sort of character who tends to follow the beat of his own path and wants people to come to him to take care of problems. Basically, he makes his living off of cops not being involved. While he’s a different person than he was back in the first season and he is in a new city, we don’t think that he has changed all that much at all.

This season is arguably going to be the most important one in the series’ history to date — anytime that you’re moving characters to a new place, expectations go through the roof for things to feel very different, but still have the original essence of the show buried somewhere in there.
