Better Call Saul bonus video: Gale’s periodic table song, extended

This past episode of Better Call Saul season 4 contained many amazing moments, but the return of Gale has to be at the top of the list. He was a super-memorable character during his time on Breaking Bad and here, he got a chance to spend some time with Gus Fring.

For those of you who didn’t get enough of the character on Monday, here’s a chance to spend more time with him! The video features the character singing an extended version of the song about the elements of the period table. The thing that is easily the most impressive to us here is that David Costabile had to learn this entire song and get it down pat — while also acting as the character in the scene. It’s one of the bigger challenges we’ve seen for an actor on this show, and it’s very much awesome.

Given that Better Call Saul cannot just kill off Gale since he dies down the road, our feeling is that we’re going to be seeing Gale at least on occasion moving forward. We don’t exactly think that the story of Gus is going to be coming to a close in the near future and so long as he is around at this point, so could Gale. (Of course, we do wonder how much more time Better Call Saul is going to spend in the pre-Breaking Bad timeline, but we say this mostly from the vantage point of someone who really wants to see a full season all about Gene.)

Hopefully, there are some more delightful surprises from the Breaking Bad world, provided that they make sense to the story.
