Outlander season 4: Caitriona Balfe, Diana Gabaldon appear at Wizard World
During her panel at the convention on Thursday Balfe (who bumped up her appearance date in order to deal with changes in her movie filming schedule) was joined by none other than series author Diana Gabaldon to answer a number of audience questions. While there, Balfe discussed everything from the episodes (she recognizes the power and importance of “Faith” especially) to working with Tobias Menzies (who she found to be a great mentor figure as an actor). Gabaldon also discussed how involved she is in the production, including some of the footage that she sees and the amount of contact she has.
This was a good panel insofar as information goes, and it was also a funny panel by most standards. There was a good bit of laughter that was had and there were some pretty good questions. There were also plenty of photos taken, but all you have to do is scroll through social media in order to see some of those.
Many other Outlander cast members are going to be present this week in Chicago, and we feel like there are going to be some more opportunities to hear various stories from them. Sam Heughan will not longer be there in person due to some Bloodshot commitments, but he will still be doing a number of Skype sessions. The next major Outlander-related convention following Wizard World is New York Comic-Con in October, which is actually done in an official capacity with Starz. While nothing is guaranteed, expect fewer scheduling issues and for some new footage potentially to be shown from season 4.
