Lethal Weapon will be returning with season 3 on September 25, and the first promo gives you a sense as to how different it will be.

At the center of the new season is Seann William Scott in the role of Wesley Cole, a character with a military background who is going to be coming to Los Angeles in order to put down some more roots and have a normal life … or at least as normal a life as a guy like him can have. After all, he’s still going to be involved in some of the craziest stuff possible as he and Murtaugh rip through the city streets in order to ensure that justice is served.

Season 3 of Lethal Weapon tonally isn’t planning to change much — this is an action-packed crime series with a little bit of humor wedged in there. The obvious change is that Clayne Crawford is gone and we feel like we’ve already discussed that subject a lot, so there’s no real point on dwelling on it anymore. Instead, we’re trying our best to look forward to a new batch of episodes, ones that are hopefully going to be entertaining and include much of what we loved about the original version of the show.

Of course, one of the biggest questions that we have is the status of Jordana Brewster, who was not featured in the promotional photos for the third season. That has to raise some questions as to her own future with the franchise as Dr. Maureen Cahill.

Given that we are a good month or so away from the premiere, we imagine that more previews will be revealed — we’ll have to see how much of the supporting cast is present in those. This one is all about Murtaugh and Cole which makes sense since this is the new partnership that will be the focus of the new season.
