Code Black season 4: Still no update on revival front

While we still want to see a Code Black season 4 happen, either at CBS or somewhere else, there isn’t exactly a whole lot more in the way of news to report on the subject today.

In a new post on Twitter earlier this week, show executive producer Michael Seitzman noted that at least at the time of this writing, the series had not been saved. There have been rumors out there for a while, and we’re sure that there are also some rumors out there today about it again because of Moon Bloodgood exiting a series she was a part of over at Apple. Yet, we have a hard time thinking that this had anything to do with a possible Code Black revival effort, especially since the schedules could have aligned in a way where she could work on both with a little bit of creativity.

Ultimately, the reason for renewed hope in the series’ future came courtesy of CBS saying at the TCA Summer Press Tour earlier this summer that they were looking at possibly bringing the show back after it performed much better in the ratings than perhaps the network imagined that it would going into the summer months. It made a strong case for itself and it’s still baffling that ABC or another network hasn’t made a more dramatic move to pick it up. Rob Lowe also threw a little bit of water on the TCA announcement by saying that nobody with CBS had been in contact with Seitzman following the panel about an effort to say the show. Maybe there are conversations that have happened internally, but it still doesn’t feel like there is any substantial progress being made.

Of course, we’re going to let you know if some of this changes — for now, we know that we’re every bit as committed as ever to there being a Code Black season 4. Not only was it an underrated hit this summer, but it’s also one of the few shows that get stronger with every passing week.
