Sharp Objects episode 8 (finale) spoilers: Camille puts her life on the line

Sharp Objects episode 1

Sharp Objects episode 8 is going to come on the air with a rather-enormous task ahead of it: Trying to wrap up the story that you’ve seen to date. This is the last episode of the season, and if past comments via HBO and star Amy Adams are to be believed, this is going to be the last episode ever. This is going to wrap up everything that we’ve seen, since it doesn’t appear that this show is planning to go the route of Big Little Lies or The Sinner in changing its mind on what it wants to be.

Some stories are just meant to have a clearly-defined beginning, middle, and end, and at this point, it’s pretty clear that this is one of those said stories. You’re going to get a chance to digest everything that happens over the course of this episode pretty much for however long you want to think about it. In some ways, knowing that this is the end in advance is a gift … though there’s also potential for a lot of tears and emotion in general. Amma is in jeopardy, and in order to resolve things, Camille is going to put herself in jeopardy. She’s getting very close to resolving once and for all what happened in Wind Gap, and of course the closer she gets, the more danger that she puts herself in. This is not going to be an easy road for her as we get to the finish line, but watching said journey is a big part of what makes this show special.

Below, the Sharp Objects episode 8 synopsis offers up some more information when it comes to what lies ahead:

Concerned for the safety of Amma, Camille puts her own life in jeopardy as she gets closer to the truth behind the shocking mysteries surrounding the Wind Gap killings.

It’s not the most spoiler-filled synopsis ever, but it is almost certainly enough to go on.
