The Hills revival buzz picks up before MTV Video Music Awards
Here is what we know at the moment. According to a new report coming in right now from People, much of the cast of the longtime reality series is set to reunite at the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet on Monday for what could be a major announcement. As for what that announcement could be, we suppose that there are several different options, but a potential revival seems to be fairly high up on the list. It is, after all, the thing that makes the most sense when you consider the rumors that have been out there for a while. Also, MTV is looking to revive many of their established properties, whether it be on their own network or somewhere else.
Much like Jersey Shore Family Vacation, though, it is fairly unlikely that the new version of the show would feature every single original cast member. It’s hard to really imagine a world in which Lauren Conrad returns given that she’s got some other irons in the fire and has found a lot of success for herself away from the show. Maybe The Hills makes up for this with a new cast member or two, or maybe they just focus on some other people instead.
It’s ultimately understandable why MTV would want to do more of this series, largely due to the fact that everyone seems to reviving just about every single show under the sun at the moment. Why wouldn’t the network go ahead and also give this a shot? If it doesn’t work out, they can just cancel it and move forward … provided that this is what this big announcement is ultimately about in the first place.
