9-1-1 season 2 video: Angela Bassett, Jennifer Love Hewitt set up premiere
If you look below, the two actresses do their best in order to tee up a dramatic two-part premiere that begins on Sunday, September 23 with a dramatic crisis that includes an earthquake — basically, the sort of thing that is going to leave many different lives hanging in the balance. The entire first-response team is going to have their work cut out for them trying to get out of this situation in one piece.
Beyond just the crisis at hand, the premiere is also going to do its part introducing Hewitt’s character, someone who has witnessed her own fair share of trauma already. She is hiding out from an abusive relationship and with the help of Buck, she’s landed in a position as a 9-1-1 operator. (Her previous job is that of a nurse.) She’s going to be able to help these people deal with their emotional time of need, and we imagine that she’s also going to be relatively used to this fast-paced environment. While Hewitt is not the only new addition to the season, she is certainly the one who most people are going to be excited to see almost from the jump. She’s a known commodity, and beyond that, there’s some excitement that comes from getting a chance to see her on this show after not seeing her in anything for a while.
More so than the actors, though, the real strength of 9-1-1 is going to be seeing how some of these cast members navigate some of the crazy, tricky situations that lies ahead for them. Here’s to hoping that the series is entertaining and lives up to all of the expectations that we’ve got in our head.
