Luther star Idris Elba keeps the James Bond conversations happening
The new photo below comes via Elba’s official Twitter, and we really think that there is one way in which to describe it: Straight trolling. He is having a little bit of fun with some of the people who think that he could be the next Bond, just because there have long been throngs of people out there eager to see it happening.
Ultimately, let’s get back now to something that we’ve said for a long time: It’s still far too early for any decisions to be made! It’s still several years from when there is going to be a new James Bond who is not Daniel Craig, who has played the role for a rather-long time now. It’s hard to believe that there are any firm decisions being made, though we know that the Elba rumors were out there even before he tweeted anything. We’ve also heard names like Sam Heughan, Tom Hiddleston, and Aidan Turner attached to the role, mostly because people have asked them about it in various interviews. Let’s just frame things this way: If you are an actor from the UK or Ireland and you are asked about being Bond, what are you going to say? It’s one of the most iconic roles of all time and there’s little reason why someone wouldn’t want to do it … other than they just don’t want to be in that kind of movie.
