Outlander notes: Sam Heughan’s South Florida press tour

Sam Heughan

Welcome to the latest edition of CarterMatt’s Outlander notes, which is your go-to spot for some of the latest news on the show! Today, the focus is once more on Sam Heughan’s media tour, as she shifted down to Miami in order to promote The Spy Who Dumped Me.

The first thing we have to talk about is Sam wearing a long-sleeved shirt and pants in Miami in August. Think in terms of almost 90 degrees with extremely high humidity mixed in there. That’s rough.

Anyhow, Sam did a couple of different TV interviews that are worth checking out. The first is a chat that he did with CBS 4 in Miami (of course) about his new movie, but also how Outlander has changed his life and also how he enjoys working with social media as a means to interact with fans. There’s a good bit of ground covered here in a short period of time, and of course there is the inevitable James Bond question you’ve heard a few times over.

Sam’s interview with Univision – This is one that we didn’t expect to see, but it’s rather fascinating from the vantage point of seeing him communicate with someone in a different language. Sam was likely getting the questions in English off-camera and he never misses a beat talking about the movie here. These are the sort of interviews that really show what a pro he is; it’s really fantastic how natural this feels. Granted, the folks at Univision are pretty used to this after doing a lot of these sort of interviews with actors over the years.

You can check out the full interview with Univision over at the link here.
