Chicago Fire season 7 not looking to be the final season on NBC

Chicago Fire

While we don’t think that it should be a surprise to anyone out there, it’s still nice to know that there’s still a lot of life in Chicago Fire.

Speaking as a part of his weekly Q&A session with users on Twitter, show executive producer Derek Haas confirmed (see the tweet below) that “as long as people keep watching and NBC keeps renewing” the show, he has no plans to end the series. That should be a relief to everyone out there given that season 7 is often a time in which big decisions are often made on the future of a series. We’ve already seen some of that play out with Monica Raymund (Gabriela Dawson) departing the season after being an original cast member. This is the time in which some departures start to happen or when you have to work even harder in order to try and keep the story fresh.

For those wondering, Haas also confirmed that the series is going to hit the ground running when it comes to the status of Dawson and Casey. That is going to be addressed over the course of the premiere; there is always a chance that Raymund could appear on the show down the road but there are no immediate plans in order to do that.

Chicago Fire season 7 will be premiering on NBC this September, and if you do want to see the series last for another few seasons, our advice here is the same as it is for many other shows: Watch live! That is the best way in order to ensure that networks are happy and there are more renewals coming. Even if you can’t tabulate your ratings via a Nielsen box, you can do something more to improve the show’s social-media footprint. Every little bit helps!
