Chicago Fire season 7 spoilers: Annie Ilonzeh playing new 51 paramedic

Chicago Fire

For anyone out there eager for some more Chicago Fire season 7 casting news, we have that for you today some casting news with actress Annie Ilonzeh.

According to a new report coming in via Variety, the Arrow alum is currently set to recur across the upcoming season as a paramedic named Emily Foster. She is someone new to the Chicago Fire Department, but also someone who seems to be fairly eager to step in and get the job done. The site notes that she does have a “chip on her shoulder,” but that may be some added motivation in order to be as good at her job as humanly possible.

While we don’t want to label Ilonzeh as a replacement per se to Dawson (Monica Raymund), she is filling that sort of role alongside Brett at Firehouse 51. This was one of the most important roles that the series had to cast moving into the season, largely since Brett cannot just go out into the field by herself when emergencies strike.  (There is always a chance that we could see Raymund in the future, but nothing is guaranteed at the moment.)

Meanwhile, the site also notes that you are going to get a chance to see Steven Bower (Trial & Error) come on board in a recurring role of his own as Assistant Deputy Commissioner Jerry Gorsch. This is a man who was at one point a firefighter, but managed over time to leverage that to get a cushier gig. He does relish in some of the power that he has within the fire department and, prior to landing this job, wasn’t actually known for being altogether brave or heroic.

Chicago Fire season 7 has already started to film in the Windy City, and it is going to kick off airing in September as a part of a lineup that also features Chicago Med and also Chicago PD.
