For everyone who lives Chicago Fire, prepare to commence some of your rejoicing! Filming for the upcoming seventh season of the show is underway.
Below, show executive producer Derek Haas has some of your proof in the form of a new tweet — it doesn’t exactly give away much except, of course, the fact that there will be firefighting (big shock). This is, after all, at the core of what this show is! Chicago Fire filming is going to run through the spring, and this could be one of the most important seasons of the show yet. We already know that Dawson (Monica Raymund) is gone, and there could still be more change coming at Firehouse 51. When you have a show that is set in this sort of environment, it does make sense that there are going to be some people who change their roles and their careers here and there. It’s pretty unrealistic to have the same group of people in the same place for seven years — Chicago Fire has held true to that so far and we imagine that they will continue to do so moving forward.
We’ve already reported that filming for Chicago Fire season 7 is filming episodes slightly out of order, with the second episode shooting first. There is a specific reason for it, but Haas isn’t giving all that much away on that subject just yet.
Given that production is still in the early going and there are still more than two months to go until the show premieres in September, we are going to have opportunities to share some more details and information on what’s ahead. Also, we feel like NBC will announce more news on it in due time. There’s no immediate hurry just yet when you are, after all, still so far away from production evening happening. Why rush things along right now when there’s no clear reason to do so? We like to think that this is a philosophy that is out there on some level.
