911 season 2 teaser: Now with an unofficial touch of Shark Week

911 season 2

Sure, we realize that 911 doesn’t exactly air on the same network as most Shark Week programming, but the latest promo does make it feel like they’re in on the fun! (Granted, we’re not sure “fun” is the right word for what we’re about to describe.)

The video below marks the latest season 2 teaser for the Fox drama series premiering on September 23, and this one alludes to a shark attack at a local beach. It’s true that these are extremely rare, especially in proportion to how much we actually hear about them in the press. Yet, we hardly blame the 911 team for diving in here and really trying to capitalize on the shark trend that tends to sweep the nation this time of year … even if you actually don’t see a shark in the teaser.

Really, all of these teasers are just smart marketing for Fox since they are a way in which to promote the series without actually offering up too much in the way of footage. That’s one of the biggest challenges with the series right now given that filming only recently started, but Fox does need to market the show as much as possible to ensure that it gets off to a great start. Season 1 was one of their biggest hits of the past year, but they need to do everything they can to inform people that season 2 is airing this fall, and at a new timeslot to go along with that. If they can make this show a larger hit, that would be golden for them given the decline in the ratings for Empire as of late and some of their sweeping changes across the board.

This is actually the first promo for 911 season 2 that is very much different from some of the others — if you recall, some of the other previews that are out there for the show feature an earthquake as a central disaster.
