911 season 2 teaser: The earth starts to shift
Granted, we don’t think that this teaser gives too much away when it comes to major updates on any of its characters … but we’re not altogether sure how anyone could have expected that. Filming only recently got started, and the purpose for these teasers (see another one here) is to get you excited about an earth-shattering event (literally) that will be a part of the upcoming two-night premiere starting on Sunday, September 23 (and then moving to Monday nights).
What’s going to happen? Well, it can be described in one word: Earthquake. This is going to devastate the Los Angeles area and following that, it is going to be up to some of the first responders, from the call center to the police to the firefighters and paramedics, to help as many people as possible. Unfortunately, we do already have a feeling that the workload is going to be through the roof and they aren’t going to be able to handle all of the emergencies coming their way at once. It’s a hard thing for these characters to go through, but it’s also pretty clear as to why Fox has decided to start off the upcoming season by promoting things in this particular way. What they are trying to do is give people a super-dramatic reason to watch, and then try to hook them in with some of the characters after that.
Remember that the first episode is going to be airing following an NFL game and with that, the goal here (see what we did there?) will be to attract a potentially different audience than the series has ever had before. They can be finnicky, and with that you do really need one of the best episodes to win them over.
