Hawaii Five-0 200th episode will be big for Steve and Danny’s restaurant

Will Steve and Danny’s restaurant actually end up coming to pass on the Hawaii Five-0 200th episode? It’s something that they’ve been hard at work at for a while, but this key installment may be when the two actually take a big step forward in their side project.

Speaking to TVLine while at San Diego Comic-Con, show executive producer Peter M. Lenkov notes that there is going to be a “soft opening” for the restaurant in this episode, one that proves to be a “big turning point with regards to their future and the restaurant.” That’s something that we imagine could be either really emotional or a heck of a lot of fun depending on which way the writers decide to take it.

Personally, we like having the restaurant sideplot be a big part of the story, mostly because it injects so much energy into just about everything — it’s never going to overtake what happens over at Five-0 and we think that it just allows the series to have some balance and gives us another outlet to know the characters better.

On a different note

For those of you who love this show when it is at its most action-packed, there’s also going to be an episode coming up that is themed around bringing back some familiar faces to take part in a large mission. Here is some of what Lenkov had to say on that:

“We’re doing a big sort of Expendables episode … We’re bringing back a lot of people that over the years have helped us.”
