Blue Bloods season 9 filming underway! Vanessa Ray on set
In a new Instagram story, Vanessa Ray confirmed this week that she is back on set in New York City. Not only that, but she is in uniform! There isn’t too much else to share right now, save for that we really wish that Instagram stories were easier to embed, but we do think that this is a welcome sign to all members of #TeamJamko across the internet. Your favorite duo is going to be back in action, and sooner rather than later!
There are a lot of different reasons to be excited for where season 9 takes some of these characters, but for us it feels like this is going to be the best season for Ray and Will Estes in years. These two will have a chance to play a storyline that could almost be ongoing in nature, which is something that you rarely see in Blue Bloods — this is provided, of course, that Jamie and Eddie did not get married over the course of the hiatus. Even if they did, though, there is a great deal of ground that could be explored emotionally with some of these characters as they navigate precisely what it is like for them to be a couple working on the force together. It’s clearly going to be very much different than the two of them being partners now, at least in that there is more of a defined label as to what their relationship is. Even if they act largely the same, there will be people, including Frank, who are inclined to treat them differently. That is just something to watch out for.
