Better Call Saul season 4: Bob Odenkirk, cast on what’s next

Better Call Saul season 4Better Call Saul season 4 is premiering on AMC in early August, and all indications suggest it’s a psychological one for Jimmy McGill.

In a new video (which you can see at TV Guide), you can see creator Vince Gilligan, star Bob Odenkirk, and a number of other cast members/producers break down some of what’s coming for the title character this season. It’s a difficult one, mostly because from the very onset you are dealing with a man in Jimmy who is in mourning. He’s trying to figure out just what his life and his future could look like and that’s not an easy thing for him to be able to tackle. He’s also not a lawyer at the moment after his recent suspension, and we have to think that this is going to have an impact on his brain in some shape or form.

As for a number of other interesting character stories…

Kim – For Rhea Seehorn’s character, we’re going to see arguably her meatiest story yet as she tries to balance being a great support system for Jimmy with also trying to figure out what she needs for herself. There is still that underlying layer of darkness here given that you’re talking about a character who is not a part of Breaking Bad anymore. In some shape or form, season 4 is going to have to bring you to that place, even if it’s not a place that we particularly want to think about all that much.

Mike – Meanwhile, Jonathan Banks’ character has to continue down the road where he eventually becomes Gus Fring’s #2, and that’s a place that he clearly never thought that he’d be. He’s not doing these sort of criminal acts for the sake of his own ego; he’s not Walter White where he is in the empire business. Continuing this journey with Mike will be interesting, just because we want to see some of these moral quandaries play out on screen.
