911 season 2 spoilers: Charisma Carpenter to guest-star in premiere
With production on 911 season 2 getting underway, it feels like now is the right time to start looking towards the future — in this case, especially in the form of future guest stars!
According to a new report coming in via TVLine, Charisma Carpenter (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) is going to be appearing in the first episode back as a 911 caller who finds herself stuck “between a rock and a hard place.” This is one of the few shows where that expression could actually be meant literally.
In getting Carpenter for the premiere, 911 is also getting a pretty fantastic scene partner for new cast member Jennifer Love Hewitt, who is taking over the 911 operator role that Connie Britton had the first season. We do want to see that character get off to a good start, especially since she’s got such a rough hill to climb since so many people out there love Abby.
We imagine that, in general, one of the most appealing things with 911 is that there is a sort of near-constant potential to see interesting people come on board the show as guest stars. After all, there are going to be people in need of help every single episode, and typically characters in crisis offer up a chance for good performances. We’ll see precisely who follows up Carpenter moving forward this season, but the strong ratings that we saw through the first batch of episodes should be an additional incentive for more performers to want to come on board. (Beyond just possible victims, we do also think that 911 is going to be looking to explore some of the personal lives of the characters more.)
Remember that the 911 season 2 premiere is going to be airing on Sunday, September 23 after the NFL lineup. We hope to have some more news related to the series soon.
