For those of you who are interested in some more The Resident season 2 filming news, this should be music to your ears: Production is underway!
On July 13, filming officially started for the latest batch of episodes, which are set to premiere on Fox come this fall in a new timeslot — Mondays at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. There’s a lot to look forward to, in between seeing Jane Leeves on board as a new character and also seeing some other people like Malcolm-Jamal Warner around on a more permanent capacity. Even though Dr. Lane Hunter is gone now after the events of season 1, we do firmly believe that there will still be some more heroes and villains within the medical community, told through the same fascinating lens that we have seen much of this story play out so far. The Resident has done a good job of telling fascinating, nuanced stories and that isn’t changing.
If you did miss it earlier this weekend, there is some other good news out there when it comes to episode count: The show is making 22 installments this season! That is a nice improvement from what the order was for season 1 and we hope that this is a trend that ends up continuing in the years to come — provided of course the show gets more seasons. We like to be optimistic, but recognize that it may take us a little bit of time to get to the point where a renewal discussion can be had — after all, we need to see the season 2 ratings first!
For now, let’s just be excited that we can cross off yet another milestone on our way to season 2 of The Resident officially beginning.
