Arrow season 7: Stephen Amell hypes up big action sequence

Arrow

Arrow season 7 is premiering on The CW this October, and it seems as though there’s another reason to be psyched for the very first episode: The opportunity to bear witness to some sort of incredible action sequence.

In  anew post on Twitter, series star Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen himself) made it very clear that there is an action sequence during the premiere that he is exceptionally proud of, one that rivals a notable event from the pilot and also the infamous battle with Ra’s al Ghul during the third season. Given that the premiere episode is being directed by stunt guru James Bamford, it’s hard to say that we’re shocked about this at all. It mostly just gives you an added incentive to watch what is pretty clearly a new chapter of the series.

How different is the show’s premiere going to be? For starters, there’s a good chance that Oliver will be in prison, Paul Blackthorne (Quentin Lance) is gone, and there’s a new showrunner behind the scenes in Beth Schwartz. She does know this series very well, but it’s a chance to see the series through a slightly different lens, at least from a leadership standpoint. Colton Haynes is also going to be a regular for season 7, but we don’t want to get so ahead of ourselves that we guarantee he will be a part of the premiere. That may be something that happens a week or two into the season or even later, depending on the direction of the story.

For now, the most important thing is that signs point to an epic start to the season, one that is going to be full of action, drama, and hopefully a few surprises that we don’t see coming. We do know that we’re getting Batwoman down the road for the big superhero crossover this year.
