America’s Got Talent video: Is Heidi Klum’s Golden Buzzer pick a singer?
NBC has released another teaser now for Tuesday night’s episode, and in it, we do have a few more clues regarding what is about to happen — most notably, that it seems to be a person rather than a group, and she loves both the person’s smile and how they “project to everyone.” So … it’s probably a singer, which is likely going to draw the ire of many people out there who are over seeing singers get them.
Yet, we’ll continue to counter with this: How much does it really matter who gets the golden buzzer? In some ways, it actually could benefit the variety acts to not get it given that this allows them another opportunity to blow viewers away during the Judge Cuts; typically, singers don’t really need an additional opportunity to do that. It’s been proven over time that it is harder for large groups or non-singing acts to win this show. As a matter of fact, here’s the craziest reminder of all: There has never been a duo or group act to have won this show. That may be one of the most under-reported stats out there when you think for a moment about the performers that we’ve seen over the years.
Ultimately, we just hope that whoever Heidi gives the Golden Buzzer to is someone who has a legitimate chance at winning the show, and this is not just someone who is going to come out, performing a great audition, and then fall into the background after that.

Remember that Heidi’s Golden Buzzer is not necessarily the last Golden Buzzer of the season, as many of the guest judges during the Judge Cuts round have this ability.
