NCIS: Los Angeles star Linda Hunt recovering after car accident

Linda Hunt

A scary situation unfolded this week regarding NCIS: Los Angeles star Linda Hunt, but the good news is that she will be okay in the aftermath of it.

In a statement per Entertainment Tonightthe actress addressed the situation and made it clear that her recovery will have no bearing on her ability to return to the CBS series later this summer for new episodes:

“Yesterday I was involved in a minor traffic accident and taken to the hospital … I’m pleased to report I’m recovering well and have no serious injuries. Thank you for all the well wishes!  I’m looking forward to starting production on NCIS: Los Angeles later this summer.”

This is very much wonderful news to hear — while there have been many a scary situation involving characters on NCIS: Los Angeles over the past year, including Hunt’s own character of Hetty, we absolutely don’t want to hear about anything scary in real life. This is the tenth season of the series coming up, and it is wonderful to see that she will continue to be a part of telling the story. Hunt has been a part of the series since the beginning, and continues to be a source of leadership and wisdom both onscreen and off.

There is no official premiere date as of yet for new episodes, but we anticipate that it is going to come on the air come either late September or early October. To go along with that, fingers crossed that we get an opportunity to tell a spectacular Hetty story after the character’s life was in jeopardy last season after she was trapped and captured in Vietnam. She was eventually rescued around midseason before transferring back to the office in LA and squaring off at times with the new boss in Shay Mosley (Nia Long).
