Shades of Blue season 3 episode 3 video: Is Stahl’s ghost real?

Shades of Blue

Moving into Shades of Blue season 3 episode 3, it’s abundantly clear that mental anguish is something that Harlee Santos is dealing with in a very real way. She’s still recovering from James’ death, and beyond just that, she keeps seeing Stahl and is unsure as to what it means. Is he really back in New York, or are her eyes just playing tricks on her? She absolutely has some concerns, but unfortunately, she doesn’t have answers.

Based on the promo below for Sunday night’s new episode, it seems like we could be inching closer to Harlee finding some of the information that she so seeks. However, we’re not sure that getting answers is a good thing here. Let’s put things this way — if she finds out that Stahl is both real and roaming around, is that really a good thing? It’s basically a reminder to her that there is a monster in the city and she needs to figure out a way in which to deal with that. This is not an easy thing to come to grips with and this trauma could overwhelm her.

Beyond just that, though, there is another part of this episode that is important: How far certain people in the force are willing to go in order to bury a story. That means, at times, pressuring witnesses to change their stories. Shades of Blue has always been a show about corruption within the police force, so we can’t quite say that this is any different. Yet, some of what is done in this episode could be especially haunting and visceral. Prepare for it, and prepare for a powerful episode as a whole. With this being the final season, there’s probably going to be a rather concentrated effort to keep the story going at about a billion or so miles an hour.
