Outlander notes: Land Con 2 panel highlights — Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, more

Outlander - The Land Con 2

Today, The Land Con 2 is happening over in France, and for those who do not know, this is one of the biggest Outlander conventions of its kind! The majority of the cast, including Sam Heughan, Caitriona Balfe, Richard Rankin, and Sophie Skelton, are there and taking part in everything from Q&A sessions with fans to also individual photos. It’s hopefully a wonderful experience for everyone involved.

Given that there are a lot of people out there who could not be in attendance, we do want to do our best to share a few notable teases that we’ve seen online.

1. More Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin – It sounds as though they’re going to be spending a good bit of time on-screen in season 4, and that producers have done their best to translate many memorable scenes from the source material to screen. However, not all of them are going to make it just because of the fact that there is a limited amount of time on the show.

As for how they prepare for scenes, Rankin noted that he likes to make her laugh — they they mess around with each other, they do have a great working relationship and that helps with just about everything.

2. Steven Cree wants to have more screen time as Ian Murray – Why wouldn’t he? Cree is a delight on social media and based on what we’ve seen online, he was also a delight for everyone in attendance, as well.

3. John Bell commentary – John discussed, in part, how he would love to play Geillis if given a chance and also his first sex scene on the series.

4. Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan – Most of this panel seems to have been fairly lighthearted, with Caitriona talking about invoking her grandmother at times for Claire while Sam discussed how much he enjoyed certain filming locations — including the castle in season 1.

All in all, it doesn’t seem like there were any huge spoilers dropped for the fourth season; nonetheless, a lot of fun seems to have been had by everyone in attendance, and that is really what many of these conventions are about.
