As you prepare for what is hopefully a great summer weekend, why not soak in a couple of Outlander season 4 filming notes?
Let’s start here with the news that the second-to-last filming week of the season is done! This was confirmed in a new post by Caitriona Balfe, who is embarking to join any of her other co-stars this weekend in France for a convention. While we’re not there ourselves (sadly), we’ll still do our best to provide some updates from the event over the next few days. For a time, we wondered if filming would be done beforehand so that the cast doesn’t have to fly out to France before flying back to Scotland. Yet, this is going to be the case for at least some cast members. Everyone wraps the season at their own schedule (after all, not every cast member is needed for every episode) and some actors are already done.
For Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan, they’ve got presumably at least a handful of days remaining next week. They’ll have a chance to celebrate being done with this batch of episodes soon, and then they move on to some other projects, eventually relax, and then come back for filming season 5. It’s all a crazy cycle that way.
Of course, here’s your customary reminder that Outlander season 4 is set to premiere on Starz come November.
What’s happening with Sam Heughan?
He shared a behind-the-scenes photo earlier today that was an indicator of one thing: Forest. We know that the production has been working in a pretty secluded location the past couple of weeks, one that has its fair share of midges but also may provide the perfect atmosphere for some of the scenes that the series is working on. Yet, that location was reserved their June 30, so presumably they will be moving somewhere else to wrap up production. If there’s any information available on that next week, we’ll let you know. It could just be somewhere located indoors or over to one of the show’s pre-built sets.
