Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles celebrate Supernatural Day

Supernatural Day

It’s not often that you get a day named after your show, but for Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, that became a reality on Saturday.

Jared and Jensen are originally from Texas, and as many fans of the show know, they spend their off-season in Austin, where Padalecki co-owns the bar San Jac Saloon. Last night, the two actors received a special visit (at the establishment) from none other than Mayor Steve Adler, who proclaimed it to be Supernatural Day with both a speech and the proclamation that CarterMatt has for you to see at the bottom of this article. Supernatural fans worked hard to make this happen, much as they often work to give back to charity and support the cast in every single thing they do.

This video (which we also have for you below) is really just all about positive energy and celebration — it’s not often that you see something like this happen, but it’s also not often that you get a whole day named after your show! Season 14 is going to be an especially big one for the series, given that the 300th episode is going to take place at some point during it. This is already the longest-running show of its kind ever on network TV, and the other wonderful thing about it right now is that there is no clear end in sight. We’d love to see the show last a few more seasons, or at least however long that Jared and Jensen want to keep making it. That’s something that CW boss Mark Pedowitz has said time and time again when asked about the series’ overall longevity: So long as the ratings are good and Jared and Jensen are happy, he wants to keep making the show.

Filming for the new season starts next month, so while you wait for more news on that from the Vancouver set, check out the video below (via Kelios Incantare) and prepare to smile.
