NCIS: New Orleans season 5: Should we worry over LaSalle’s future?
At the end of season 4, it was fairly clear that Lucas Black’s character was in a not-so-great place. After all, we’re speaking here about a man who was facing legal trouble with the IRS thanks to his father’s business — while he didn’t commit any wrongdoing himself, he is now in somewhat of a position where he has to deal with some of this. The finale gave us a good implication that the character was going to be heading off to Alabama to deal with much of this and hopefully, by the time the premiere rolls around he will be back in New Orleans to work with the team again. The good news, at least for now, is that it doesn’t seem as though the character is going anywhere. Given that we just lost Percy, we don’t want to also see LaSalle go the wayside!
Do we think it’s possible that much of LaSalle’s problem is addressed at the end of the season 5 premiere? It’s possible, especially since there is probably going to be some sort of time jump, especially when we get on the other side of whatever happens to Pride in the aftermath of the shooting. Yet, we don’t want to just gloss over whatever happens to LaSalle in the aftermath of all of this. There is still a good bit of story that can be told when it comes to LaSalle trying to fix this situation — you could see him doing what he could to get extra money together in New Orleans, such as taking on more work, or you could see him trying to run his father’s business on the side. It could be an opportunity to introduce a new character or two who is somewhat tied to that. We do think that there will probably be some new faces in season 5, but whether or not they are tied to LaSalle remains to be seen.
Hopefully, the writers come up with an interesting solution to whatever is happening here no matter how they choose to go about it.
