Outlander season 4: Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan coming to New York Comic-Con
Today, it was confirmed that Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Sophie Skelton, and Richard Rankin are going to be present in New York on Saturday, October 6 in order to promote the launch of the new season premiering in November. This is a chance for them to communicate with a different crop of fans, while probably having a good time in the process. Outlander season 4 is wrapping up filming right now in Scotland and this is a big win for the convention. They’ve been able to attract over the past few years even more big names to take part in some of the convention fun. (This is not the first time that Outlander has had a presence in New York for this convention; however, this is the first time that cast members will be in attendance.)
The bad news that comes along with this announcement is that the cast will not be at San Diego Comic-Con this year. That’s something we’ve suspected for a while, largely because we typically hear by now when they are going to be a part of it and there hasn’t been a whole lot of conversation floating around out there. It does make some sense as to why the group would miss it, largely because both Heughan and Balfe are filming other projects following the conclusion of season 4 production. Come October, they may be done with some of those projects or at least have a break from them. (It’s possible that both actors could end up snagging an additional film, if they can schedule it, following their upcoming ones and before season 5 starts filming next year.)
