Scott Speedman not planning Grey’s Anatomy season 15 appearance
While at a Felicity reunion panel at the ATX Television Festival this weekend, Speedman was asked about his future on the ABC medical drama after a particularly memorable role as Dr. Nick Marsh in a one-episode guest spot. This character had an almost-instant connection to Meredith Grey and with that in mind, there has been a demand to see a little bit more of him.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t feel as though the ABC series is something that Speedman is altogether eager to dive into at the moment — when asked (per TV Guide) as to whether not fans could see him either as a doctor or someone in need of a doctor soon , here’s what he had to say:
“Yeah, I don’t know … Probably, to be honest with you, neither. You’re going to have to wait a couple years. I’ll find something to do … I’m not going back to Animal Kingdom. And then Grey’s Anatomy: I don’t know. Probably not. Sorry.”
We would not necessarily call this full-on confirmation that Speedman is done with the ABC series, but it also does not feel like he is necessarily planning to go back in some sort of a larger role. This does at least make some sense in that Dr. Marsh never implied during his Grey’s Anatomy appearance that he had an interest in coming back to Seattle. It may be time that we think of his appearance precisely as what it was: a tiny chapter of Meredith Grey’s life and maybe a situation where they were two ships passing in the night. That happens in life sometimes.
If there is some sort of good news to report on when it comes to the future of Speedman on Grey’s Anatomy, we hope that it is something we get a little bit more information on in the weeks or months to come. For now, though, we’re not exactly holding our breath for some sort of big news.
