Poldark season 4 premiere sneak peek: A murderer in the midst
So what lies ahead within the very first episode? Let’s just say that there is an incident that may cause a little more tension between Ross and Demelza — but in a very different way than what we have seen between the two of them before now.
Poldark reveals that there was a riot that took place in Truro, and in the aftermath of it (and a murder that followed) Ross has to come into a gathering place to proclaim that there was a murder. He was forced to be in the position of law enforcement, something that he is not altogether comfortable with. Yet, at the same time he realizes that there is a balance between having compassion and also being an authoritarian. His responsibility is to bring in potential suspects and witnesses — he will help everyone who is innocent to the best of his ability, but the problem remains that he has a list of names he needs to bring in.
Two of those names, regrettably, are of Sam and Drake Carne. Demelza’s brothers clearly are going to have some problems this season that exist beyond just their attempts to spread the faith — or in the case of Drake, trying to find a way to be with Morwenna. This should prove to be an exciting, dramatic hour of television that gives you a little bit more insight into where Ross is as a politician and also how those close to him react to the change. Ross is trying to just be the best representative of the region possible, but there will be some bumps in the road along the way. Be prepared for many of those.
