For everyone wondering, Outlander season 4 filming is still going strong! We’ve heard a few unconfirmed reports about things production-related over the past few days, but we’re also getting the sense that the show’s trying to keep things fairly hush-hush for now.
With the show getting close to the end of production for this season, it’s understandable that they may be looking for a little more privacy. For starters, there’s probably just a push to get all of the work done. There’s a lot to do in a very short amount of time and that requires a ton of concentration. Beyond that, we imagine that this is the point in the year where everyone is starting to run on fumes. Exhaustion may be setting in after doing this with only a few breaks since production in October. There is still a little work to be done, but filming should be done by the end of the month and from there, everyone can scatter for a few months and enjoy some time to either rest or do other things.
On a slightly different note – Want to see a new behind-the-scenes image of Sam Heughan with Caitriona Balfe? You can see one below, if so, courtesy of Sam’s official Twitter!
Yesterday, we posted a new behind-the-scenes photo of Sam and Caitriona that was posted via the show’s official account — one that also featured Caitriona pulling the classic bunny-ears photo prank on him. The image below gives you a little bit of a better sense of the photo’s setting — and some massive trees that are surrounding the two actors! It’s one of those sort of images that really give you a wonderful sense of the size and scope of nature. Trees this large are the sort of thing many people don’t come in contact with on a regular basis. Also, those roots are nothing short of fantastic.
Outlander season 4 premieres on Starz this November, and as Scotland doubles for North Carolina, hopefully we get to see some more beautiful nature shots along the way.
