Given that Smurf is at the center of much of the drama with Animal Kingdom, it only made sense that with season 3 episode 3 we dive more into the prison world.
This upcoming episode is entitled “The Center Will Hold” and at the center of the hour will be getting an inside look to seeing precisely more in the way of what’s coming up for this character. For a little bit more on that, take a look at the attached Animal Kingdom season 3 episode 3 synopsis below:
Smurf (Ellen Barkin) navigates prison politics in pursuit of a potential job. J (Finn Cole) pulls the Cody boys together to keep the family enterprise going. Nicky (Molly Gordon) gets into serious trouble when she tries to impress an old friend.
The thing about Smurf is that throughout her life, she has figured out ways in which to take a miserable situation and turn it into something she can work with. She’s very smart, incredibly manipulative, and it’s with that in mind we’ve got a good feeling that she is going to figure out a way in which to make that work for her all over again here. She’s influential enough to, at the very least, ensure that nothing terrible happens to her behind bars.
As for the rest of this story, getting to see the family back together will be immensely rewarding just because of what they’ve went through — though with that being said, it’s very clear that they are all going to be forced to take on varying degrees of being in trouble as this story goes along. If they are able to pull a job together, how is it going to go smoothly? It’s really not likely that it will and that is one of many different things to take into consideration.
