Outlander notes: More Sam Heughan clips; Denver fan panel update

Outlander season 4

We kick off this Sunday edition of Outlander notes with a little bit more information in regards to Sam Heughan and his recent convention appearance in Italy! Yesterday, we posted a little bit about it and today, we’ve got some more to share thanks to the YouTube magic of Outlander Italy.

In the first clip below, Sam discusses the arrival of Steven Bonnet, played by Ed Speleers on the upcoming season. He is set to be the latest villain but to date, Starz has not released too much information about him — there aren’t even any promotional photos out there! So with that, Sam takes on the responsibility here to speak more about Bonnet, discussing how wicked he is and also what he brings to the show that makes him different. After all, a big part of what makes his story so interesting is that he possesses the unique ability to appear at first as very charming. He befriends Jamie in the early going in season 4, and it’s not until later when he will potentially realize the ramifications of that. Bonnet is a schemer, and he’s behind some of the most horrendous acts this coming season.

From here, Sam also discusses some funny stories about filming and the general vibe on set — though he does also make it clear why it’s often so hard to remember particular stories. So many of them, after all, happen within a particular context and it can be fairly hard to remember these stories and pluck that context out of them.

Remember now that Outlander season 4 is going to premiere on Starz come November. Once there is more news to report, we will absolutely have that for you here.

An Outlander fan panel update

We’ve written previously about a panel coming to Denver Comic Con later this month entitled An Outlandish Outlander Fan Panel, and we’ve now got some further news to go along with it! This panel, led by Desirre Andrews of A Dram of Outlander, Karen Daugherty of Outlander Medicine, and Courtney Williams of Outlander Behind The Scenes will be happening on June 15 at 6:00 p.m. local time in Room 404. Here is what Andrews had to say about what to expect:

“We have an Outlander TV tie-in book giveaway for the first one hundred attendees, a special giveaway for the best Outlander cosplay, and numerous audience participation opportunities.”

Following the panel at 7:30 there is also a gathering taking place at the Hyatt Regency nearby the convention center. That’s another way in which to get involved and meet some other fans who are there for the convention. If you’re in the area, why not check it out?

If you have a question for the question/discussion portion of the panel itself, you can do so by emailing contact (at) adramofoutlander.com.
