Mindhunter season 2: The mystery of Ed Kemper’s future

Mindhunter season 2 premiere date

Mindhunter season 2 may be currently in production, but neither the Netflix series nor some of the other actors in it are keen to share many details — including precisely whether or not they are going to be a part of it. That includes Cameron Britton, who plays the role of the incredibly-creepy killer Ed Kemper. He gave a tremendous performance at the heart of season 1, and given that the show left us with that powerful scene between Kemper and Holden, we’ve got a feeling that he could be in the spotlight again.

Yet, for the time being Britton is being really hush-hush on the subject of his future. Speaking in an interview with TV Guide, the actor had the following to say about his future:

“I have absolutely no idea whether or not I am in it, because there are so many serial killers that the guys at the FBI have to interview.”

Ultimately, we do think that there is more between Kemper and Holden when it comes to Mindhunter and we are hoping that the show lives up to some of the potential from the first season. However, at the same time there is no real news as to when the show is coming back — it’d be nice if it was later this year, but Netflix has a number of different series that are on the docket.

One of the real questions that you should wonder when it comes to Mindhunter season 2 is not so much about the killers, but the psychological impact that they have on others. There is only so long that you can study the minds of these sorts of people before it can start to distort your own worldview and that’s something that the show was already starting to explore with Holden in season 1. That last scene with  Holden and Kemper was the first flicker in Holden’s own mind where he started to connect these killers to himself.
