Supergirl season 3 episode 20 sneak peek: Kara’s surprise reunion

Supergirl season 3 premiere

Supergirl season 3 episode 20 is airing on The CW this Memorial Day, and it does make a certain degree of sense that a Kryptonian memorial be at the forefront of the story.

For a little more on this particular subject, just take a look at the sneak peek below! In this, you can see Kara and Mon-El come across this key discovery while exploring a new world — which, in turn, may offer them a chance to learn how to defeat Reign. What they clearly do not expect in the process is learning that Alura, Kara’s mother, is actually still alive.

Kara’s expression at the end of this sneak peek says it all as she really cannot fathom the fact that her mother is actually alive in the flesh. It’s a powerful moment, and it is also one that brings to mind what we saw at the start of the season with Kara having some of those visions regarding her mother that eventually became corrupted. There was obviously some sort of full-circle plan there that we’re still getting a chance to see. In the end, it should be rather fun to have all of this come to fruition and to see where Alura gets involved when it comes to the endgame this year.

Beyond just that, there is another important question to wonder: Does Alura being alive change Kara’s plans for her long-term future? Is it possible that she wants to make up for lost time with her Kryptonian family? It may present her in the long-term with some more options … at least in contrast to some of the ones that she has had to date. This all harkens back to something that David Harewood (J’onn) said at a convention this weekend: There are some big changes coming to the show at the end of the season. We’re just waiting to see what they are.
