A Very English Scandal episode 3 (finale) preview: Norman vs. Jeremy

A Very English Scandal

It is fair to say that A Very English Scandal episode 3 is going to be an important one — after all, this is when the epic miniseries now comes to an end. You’ve seen the relationship between Jeremy Thorpe and Norman Scott play out and moving into the final episode, things are going to become all the more complicated (really to the surprise of no one). The two are going to face off in court and everything is about to blow up in a way that is even more public than ever.

Even though the series is historical drama, though, that does not necessarily mean that the folks over at the BBC are going to be altogether interested in giving too much information away about it in advance! For some more evidence of that, be sure to check out the attached synopsis for the hour below:

Having survived a bungled attempt on his life, Norman accuses Jeremy of being behind the murder attempt – and goes public.

After years of acrimony between them, Norman and Jeremy finally go head to head in court, with the world watching on.

Teasing what is coming up with this series is admittedly rather different from teasing what happened with some others over time, mostly due to the fact that this is a show where many viewers already know the end result. Ultimately, this makes A Very English Scandal in its conclusion one about making sure that the writers properly stick the landing, and with that in mind, have it be a series that is remembered for its performances for quite some time. This is the not the sort of story, after all, that can be re-told a dozen or so times on TV.
