New Timeless deleted scene offers up key Rittenhouse reveal

We’ve bad it all the way to 8:00 p.m. Eastern time on the Friday before Memorial Day, and that is starting to give us a little bit of hope on one key subject: It’s possible that Timeless may make it through the day without being canceled! We don’t want to get too excited just yet, but we have been extensively worried for a while that this is when the NBC show could be thrown up on the guillotine just because the network could push it out and then try to avoid some of the blowback.

Instead of writing about that further, why not go ahead and share the sneak peek below instead? This one is rather valuable, especially in how it highlights that Lucy Preston, per her mother Carol, is actually a direct descendant of David Rittenhouse himself. While we knew that she and Carol were a part of a prestigious Rittenhouse family that also including Nicholas Keynes, this does fill in some of the cracks. It also makes it clear just why Nicholas and Carol were so influential as a part of that organization.

Also, what’s exciting here as a season 3 tease is how different the Rittenhouse power structure would be if there was a new leader in Emma. She would have a chance to push and influence Rittenhouse in a different direction and there could’ve been something so exciting that came along with seeing it. That’s what makes it all the more unfortunate that we’re still unsure if we will get a chance to see it.

Hopefully, we’re going to get a chance to learn about the future of Timeless within the next week — and, of course, we hope that it’s great news. The idea of waiting so long to learn about a cancellation is going to be quite insufferable.
