Timeless deleted scene features new version of Lucy – Wyatt kiss
This sneak peek is basically a different version of the kiss scene that aired during “Hollywoodland” between the characters earlier this season, back of course before things got super-complicated and it turned out that Jessica had come back magically from the dead. Instead of kissing indoors, this time around Abigail Spencer and Matt Lanter’s characters are out next to the pool — and then in the pool! It’s a super-romantic moment that probably makes you all the more eager in order to get the show a season 3.
So why change the scene from this to something else indoors? According to executive producer Shawn Ryan via Twitter, there were some production-related reasons why eventually the shot was put indoors. No matter the reason, we’ve not basically got two different realities for this moment and we’re ultimately not bad about it. You can certainly imagine both of them existing in some way.
The timing couldn’t be better
As we reported earlier tonight, we’re very nervous about a possible cancellation for Timeless over the next 24 hours, largely because of a pattern in which companies like to bury bad news right before the start of a holiday weekend. By releasing this scene now this is the Timeless writers making sure that NBC is very much aware that they are still here and they are still fighting. Hopefully, this sneak peek helps and even if it doesn’t, it is still a rather wonderful gift from the writers of the show for everyone out there who has been fighting, and will likely continue to fight for some time.
