Outlander notes: How to download Sam Heughan’s Adventure Show special
As the tweet below reveals, “Take a Hike” is now available for purchase through the tweet below (or the link here). They also offer a code in the tweet so that you can buy the special for a discounted price. If you are located within the UK, you can watch it through BBC’s iPlayer service. Not only does purchasing the special support The Adventure Show itself, but also all British programming through the BBC. Supporting public networks is not something we think as much about in America (even if we have PBS), but it still matters.
This special features the Outlander star alongside host Cameron McNeish discussing his love of nature and the value that he has found being out in the Scottish wilderness. It’s another way to get a unique perspective of some of the scenery that you’ve seen in Outlander over the years. This is scenery that Heughan himself has rediscovered through filming the show. The Starz drama has shown itself to be tremendous advertising for Scotland over the past several years, as it has led to a significant boost in tourism. That is especially true for locales that are visited on the show.
Scotland will still have a presence moving into the upcoming fourth season premiering this November, but for some scenes the country is actually doubling for North Carolina. Given that the Outlander home base is already established there, it makes more sense to use it than does trying to shift filming somewhere entirely new.

Hopefully, this special is just the beginning of many different TV appearances we’re going to see for Sam and the Outlander cast in the months to come. We expect Sam in particular to have many just because he will be promoting the series to go along with his upcoming movie The Spy Who Dumped Me alongside Kate McKinnon and Mila Kunis.
