Following tonight’s finale on CBS, what could the SEAL Team season 2 premiere date be? That is the focus of this particular article.
The obvious news to get out of the way right now, though, is that there is officially a season 2 coming for the David Boreanaz series. The renewal was actually first confirmed many weeks ago before we even got into May sweeps, which is a nice vote of confidence from CBS that they believe in the show and they appreciate the creative direction to date. That is exciting, mostly because SEAL Team already operated somewhat differently than the standard CBS show. Most of the past several weeks have been focused on a larger mission, which goes slightly against the procedural model.
Earlier today, CBS officially revealed their fall schedule for later this year, and it certainly seems as though they’re very happy with where SEAL Team airs. The show is going to continue on Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. eastern time, following new episodes of Survivor. And will be followed once again by Criminal Minds, meaning that the entire lineup will be intact.
Now, let’s get into the precise premiere date speculation. Austin, CBS tends the start their shows for the fall season and the last week of September. Unless the Big Brother finale comes a little bit later in the summer than it did last year, it’s fair to guess that September is when Seal Team will air. If that doesn’t happen for whatever reason, then you can probably expect the show to come on the air at some point in early October. Either way, it is hard to imagine that CVS will keep you waiting too much longer be on that to see what awaits Jason and the rest of the team following their mission in the finale.
As for beyond season 2, much of that is just going to depend on ratings! Hopefully, we will have a little bit more news to share on that subject in the fall.
