Should MacGyver season 3 feature a Hawaii Five-0 crossover?

MacGyver

At the moment, we are currently in the midst of a hiatus when it comes to MacGyverThe CBS series has been off the air now for a little longer than a week; with that in mind, isn’t the time right for speculation?

To be specific, we’re talking crossovers here. Is there a way in which to pair up MacGyver with Hawaii Five-0 again? One of the things that we really loved about the first season was that opportunity to send many of the MacGyver cast members over to the islands and then have them take part in a mission there. These are both extremely fun series and with that in mind, you can easily envision a lot of different ways in which to throw the two into the same world and then see what happens.

Unfortunately, there is a very clear problem with trying to make something like this happen and it goes a little something like this: Trying to figure out a way in which to make the scheduling and logistics work. While these two shows share a network in CBS and an executive producer in Peter M. Lenkov, they also film in very different parts of the world. MacGyver is in Atlanta; meanwhile, Hawaii Five-0 is (naturally) in Hawaii. In terms of proximity, it obviously makes a little bit more sense for Hawaii Five-0 to pair off with Magnum PI given the fact that both series are set in Hawaii and can do crossovers with ease. (Remember, Magnum PI is officially coming on board now.)

Would we love to see a three-part crossover somehow? Now we’re really just reaching, but we could see it if you could fly one or two MacGyver cast members out there, even if it’s just for a relatively brief appearance. Given that there are two other shows out there in Hawaii officially now, it doesn’t make sense to set it anywhere else.
