Pauley Perrette promises flashbacks, more in final NCIS episode

Pauley Perrette - final NCIS episode

Pauley Perrette’s final NCIS episode is coming up on CBS Tuesday night and based on some of what she’s saying, you better be prepared for a pretty powerful goodbye to Abby.

In a new post on Twitter (which CarterMatt has for you below), Perrette made it clear that Tuesday night’s new episode is “sad,” but also one that is going to give you many notable moments. There are apparently set to be “tons” of flashbacks — whether that means seeing old footage of the cast or new scenes set in the past remains to be seen. Either way, this episode looks to be really special.

Ultimately, though, don’t think of Perrette’s statement as proof that Abby is going to die. We remain hopeful that she could end up finding her way out of this situation, though it does feel pretty clear right now that she has an uphill battle ahead for her. After all, she was seemingly shot at the end of this past episode alongside Clayton Reeves, who we are actually even more worried about than we are for her since he hasn’t been seen in virtually any of the promotional material that is out there for this episode.

Abby’s exit comes after fifteen years on the show and NCIS being well aware that she is one of the most notable, iconic characters in all of television seems to be pulling out all the stops for her. With her distinctive look and upbeat personality, she’s the sort of person who could be easily recognized all over the entire world. With her departure the show loses a big part of NCIS’ overall identity and we do think that it’s going to take some time for them to find that again. Goodbyes must happen (it’s a part of TV, much as it is a part of life), so we just hope that in this case it’s a worthy one that we can look back on and remember fondly for a rather long time to come.

Her mention of “Everyone is there” definitely has social media buzzing about what that could mean. We have heard from readers all season about their feelings on the lack of Gibbs and Abby scenes, so we are hopeful that she is talking about that and we will have one on this episode before she leaves. We have also seen some fans hoping that this could mean an appearance from Michael Weatherly or Cote de Pablo, but if there is then this is CBS’ best kept secret of all time since there has been zero mention about that. There may be flash backs of these characters form the past.
