NCIS season 15 episode 22 promo: Slightly longer look at Abby’s farewell
While this promo doesn’t offer too much more in the way of new footage, it does add to the emotional stakes and the sense of pain that many of these agents are going through at the moment, and for good reason given what we are talking about here. This is a chance to watch the final bow of a character who has had an incredible journey across fifteen seasons and more than 350 episodes. It’s also a reminder as to just what the character is going through at present.
At the conclusion of this past episode we saw Abby and Reeves be fired at following their fancy night out and in the aftermath of this, both characters are in jeopardy. You see Abby in her hospital bed with Gibbs apologizing, saying that he should have done more to protect her as he’d always promised. We don’t quite think that there was anything Gibbs could have actually done in this situation, but we get where the feeling of grief comes from. He, like everyone else on the team, cares a lot for Abby. It’s going to be incredibly hard to see her with her life on the line like this and we know that there’ll probably be revolts in the fandom if she does end up dying.
Personally, we just don’t envision this happening, mostly because we just can’t see producers redoing some of the past mistakes with the likes of Caitlin Todd and Ziva David. (With that being said, we are very much worried for the future of Clayton Reeves, given that he hasn’t been featured in any promotional material for the episode at all.)
